Whelan
et al are the original medical researchers performed
the basic research on the effects of red and near infrared
light in tissue culture, animal and human studies.
Shindl
demonstrated that near infrared light improves circulation
in the skin of diabetic patients that have lowered circulation.
This improvement persisted at least 30 minutes after the
light was turned off.
Schubert
et al demonstrated that a combination of these two color
lights greatly improved the healing rate of pressure wounds
in elderly bed-ridden patients - reducing the healing time
of resistant wounds by 50%.
We
present a short summary of these papers. You may download
the published clinical research from the summary page, for

The
combination of red light and near infrared will allow improved
cosmetic treatments for skin toning, wrinkle reduction and
similar cosmetic uses, especially in more senior clients.
Reduced skin circulation is a general effect of aging.
